Eastwood Versacut 40 or Plasma Part Plasmaone Premium Pilot PP43

So I would like some opinions on people that own either of these...

How clean a cut have you managed?

How does the pilot arc function on each? I was told the PP43 cuts through paint/underseal/grease with a p80 torch... is the versa cut similarly capable with its CB50 trafimet torch?

How thick have you cut?

I have the Eastwood,
I've cut 12mm with it quite cleanly but i'd say its better rated at 10mm,
The pilot arc fires an arc jet which will clean material but to start cutting you have to make contact with the tip to the material, pull the trigger and pull the torch away and the arc starts,
Its a 40amp machine but requires a 16amp supply on full power, i only turn mine up to 30amps if on a 13amp plug.

I have the Eastwood as well. As Chevy, I can cut 12mm no problem. I don't need to touch the material to get mine to start cutting though. I just fire up the pilot arc and away it goes. I run mine on a 16amp plug all the time.

Great unit and spares available from plasma part.

It does mention here that the cb50 torch uses a 40 amp drag tip with 1mm orifice. Have you tried dragging or would you say it's not suited for such? It also mentions that using lower amps and air pressure on such unit/torch will provide a less than desirable cut as tip is designed for 40amp cutting but will work.

The p80 Panasonic torch on the plasma part pp43 seems to be used mainly in higher amperage situations 60-100amps so being offered on a 40 amp machine seems a little strange, with some searching I have found tips down to 0.8-1mm diameter which would be more suited to 25-40amp cutting the unit was made for.

I wonder if either are suitable for a CNC setup, otherwise it's 539 for the s45 torch plasma part offering.

I would like to be able to make fairly accurate cuts on 1.5mm sheet, how would 40 amps and 60 psi perform on such thin sheet?

Is the cb50 torch a "blowback" pilot arc as oppose to hf? Too many things to consider! Lol

One more thing... Can the Eastwood cut through mesh continuously as the pp43 appears to with current sensing circuitry.

I've seen some P80 setups with CNC units... and saw stories of the cb50 and versacut not being suitable. Not sure if it was down to the torch through of the unit.
