E36 resto/ unchav/ bigger engine

Hi everyone new here, I'm doing a restoration on a 20 year old compact, I am after a bit of advice, I've done loads to it already wiring wise and stripping out the old drive chain now on to the welding side and cleaning it all up.

Little bits I'm alright with but there's a bit at the front I'm after a bit of advice with here's a pic

I went down scrappy and got this bit

But when I took the wing off I found a load of filler so I got all that off to find this

The wing looks pretty straight to me but I'm going to get another one to see how it lines up, I'm just seeing how anybody would go around repairing the corner pieces and all tips would would be greatly appreciated cheers. I'll post up my build thread if anyone is interested

Hi..interesting build /project you got there..as with any car rebuild..the more you dig the more you find..especially when its pushing years...the thing to do is if your in doubt about a previous repair..check the opposite side of the car panels/rails are identical..that way you can see if there has been any bad repairs or structural damage...as for rust repairing..its cut out and make new..but post pics as you progress....

Thanks I defo will do, hopefully we have a better weekend next week so I can get out there and start cutting, it's amazing I did think it looks quite clean aprt from the front corner and the chav ness off it

Cheers have a look at what colour it's going to be when finished

Mtn 94 Matt light yellow graffiti paint. Once the engine bay is done I'll spray it yellow before everything goes in then on to the rest of the car.

No there going you should have seen my miss face when I pulled up in it got these bad boys from my donner car

Clean looking body and seems to be pretty rust free other than the corner. Was this 316 or 318 originally?

Well been a bit busy at work and a new promotion yay, managed to get on it today and realised I'm better with an arc welder then a mig. Still not finished but so far it looks alright (if only lol)

Still loads to do, I know it's not going to be "body shop" standards but at least I'm having a go at it. It will look alright when it's ground down covered in filler and painted lol
