I've got a dust extractor that is typically 6/7 months out of warranty. It blows the rcd after a few seconds of use. A clean of the comutator and brushes hasn't helped at all, so I assume it's an insulation issue.
Not an expensive one by any means, but a replacement motor is 75% of the cost of a new one and not all that simple to get hold of.
I'm tempted to buy a Henry motor for £30/40 or similar and clack that in there. It has a filter over it, plus a paper filter.
Anyone know what diameter the metal fan housing is on a Henry motor? Or any other suggestions...?
