anyone ever seen one of these in ireland britian. the grandfather said he used to see the boys using them framing for concrete when he was an iron worker in the 60s in chicago?

Never heard or seen them, look well handy, spent a lot of time on site, making and setting shuttering as well.

isnt it amazing how something is as common as rain on a job in a country and all it would take for 1 person to bring it over to a site and use them, and then a market is open. SO simple

Here they are used for electric fences to hold insulators. Helps prevent cracking the insulator by hitting it with a hammer.

I always them referred to as electric fence nails.

Saw them used on shuttering years ago before firms started using reusable shuttering.

Hello Oilcooled,

shuttering nails to me, the outer head makes it easier and less damaging to remove when stripping the shuttering.

I have one in my box of "assorted nails". It is galvanised. Must have picked it up in the street as a boy... I still do that now, but that would have been about 50 years ago....
