i have had a search but couldn't find a thread on this but apologies if one exists already.
i have been running argon mix for the last year but i used to run co2 and i've decided i want to have both available so that i can use the mig more freely on low value sort of stuff (along with the cheapo chinese wire).
anyway, i got myself a new bottle of co2 which was not so easy as it used to be. the guy at the depot said 'are you a registered pub or restaurant?' i replied in the negative so he said 'we can only supply co2 to pubs etc. due to terrorism. we can can sell you this oxy acetylene kit though'. that's no good i said. well just take the o2 he said it's the same thing. no it's not i said, yes it is he said o2, co2 it's the same thing. i was astounded that people could be allowed to sell the stuff with such profound ignorance.
anyway, i eventually walked away with the co2 so now i am wondering if anyone has the same dual gas setup. i could probably think it through and come up with a perfectly safe system but i know that the best set up design will come from experience and actually doing it so i am going to be better off copying a design that has been proven by one of you knowledgable people.
