I'm a motorcycle painter and have been asked by a customer to paint the front brake disc carrier for his bike. The brake disc is a one-off bespoke made disc and carrier. The carrier is aluminium, but would appear to have been hard anodised, judging by the silver colour and complete resistance to being keyed up. So, is there a DTM paint that would sufficiently adhere to the carrier's surfaces without keying up? My usual paint supplier sells a DTM which he claims will bond directly to metal, plastic, glass etc. He claims the paint was developed for changing the colour of upvc windows without the need for prep, other than thorough degrading. I guess I need to paint a sample of shiny metal to test this. Just wondered if anyone knew of a good product. Don't want hammerstein type paint as it's thickness will spoil crisp lines of the carrier's holes etc.
