Dry air for Plasma

Just had a daft thought, or maybe not so daft.Has anybody incorporated a Co2 heater into the compressed air feed?, Would it do any good or not. If so where would be the best place to site it (straight after the compressor or before it enters the cutter?)

Heating the air won't dry it, the moisture will still be there and will condense out when the air expands at the nozzle.

Also warm air is less dense than cold so you'll not get the same force of air at the nozzle.

You really need to cool the air at the compressor so the moisture condenses out before it gets to the plasma cutter.

I was right to start with, It is a daft idea. Just thought the heater might vapourise the moisture and make it easier to trap in the machines reg/filter.

theres the problem vapour passes through the filter .cold air condenses and the filter catches it

While building my blasting kit, folks on here were talking about dry air being important. So ran up a cooling rad like those sold for towel rails. Two bits of 30mm square tube with 15 round tubes between them. Drape a bit of thick fabric over it and run a fan over, keeping the fabric wet. Evaporative cooling from this cools the tubes and gets the water out down the drain tap.
