This's the unit where I heated that adjuster nut, in the stove, to try & free it. Everything else I'd tried had failed. In a tobacco tin packed in wood ash, then wood piled atop the tin. Three small holes drilled in the lid to prevent any potential pressure buildup.
That followed by a session in the electrolysis vat freed it up, & had the added benefit of giving it a blacked finish.
It took me years to find one of those and then several more years to buy one. Then it just sat in a box for several several more years and I can tell you it would have been several several several more years before it ever looked like that!
Well done Matt! You should be really pleased with yourself…have yourself a crunchie to celebrate!
Now I’d love to see it in use again anyone have a conrod in need of a new bearing?
