Driveway gate hinges

Hi all,
Wondering if someone can help me, Im in the middle of making a set of driveway gates, my problem is that the customer wants them to be close to the ground as she has a small dog, but the gates need to rise 200mm.

Each side is going to measure 1800mm.

Does anyone know how this can be done using standard 16mm pin and eye bolts?

Yes, hang the gates on the rear of the posts and offset the lower hinge .

Have the top pin stick out further than the bottom pin but opposite for the eye bolts. It may be necessary to have the pins and eyes angled so as the top and bottom are on the same axis but that will depend on the amount of slack in the eye to pin.
You can then adjust the top and bottom to get the desired rise.

Basically the same principle as @8ob has shown but this way it will allow you to adjust top and bottom to get the lift required without having to rebore. Only downside as mentioned is the axis angle may need to be altered if the adjustment is large.

The gate will try to close when open, which is something worth mentioning to the customer.

Assuming the gates can't be opened the other way, there are some fancy ideas on YouTube, but I would go for the offset eye bolt type idea as a quick and easy way out
