Hello. I just put a video up on YouTube showing how I drilled a second bolt pattern in a flywheel. I was thinking some of you fellas might find it interesting because for 1, it shows me more less teaching myself how to use the equipment and 2, I was really pleased with a simple counter I attached to the rotary table, which I'd strongly recommend as a good thing to do. I'm no expert and am always finding better ways to do things.
I have also been posting up videos where I rebuilt a flathead v8 engine. You guys, while maybe not particularly flathead fans, might find the use of a Buma boring bar by a complete novice interesting. I also used another vintage Buma tool to cut the valve seats. I'm doing everything for virtually the first time so you witness the thought processes involved.
Check the "Crusty flatty" series for the Buma stuff.
Here's the link to the flywheel drilling video.
I hope some of you at least find some of it interesting.
I imagine with the lockdown I will be putting some more up. The flatty build is still ongoing so if you want to keep up with the progress please subscribe. It helps a lot with youtube's algorithms.
All the best,
Mart.
