Drill bit stuck in chuck.

I have an 18v Kobe cordless drill.

There is a drill but stuck in the chuck and no matter how hard I try it will not move!

Clamping the head in a vice, stilsons, brute force, nothing is working.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to free the thing?

There was a removing SDS bits thread a while ago, but I can not remember how it ended, have you tried the 'Search' above?

Apply lots of heat!

Search is just giving me SDS stuff. I'm not that fancy!

is this a chuck or sds? I had one that was stuck in a chuck because there was supposed to be a locking screw through the chuck into the drill shaft it helped lock the chuck in place with the drill being able to run in both directions but the screw was obviously missing, the drill bit had screwed its self inside the shaft's female thread like a self tapper and boy was it tight i think it was a 7mm drill but in a 8mm female thread in the shaft. I had to carefully unscrew the drill bit out of shaft!

Is the chuck undone?

One of the ones at work has a hollow spindle, a certain size bit will find its way into the spindle and get stuck, regardless of the chuck being wide open.

Take the batt off, stick it on low speed, grip the drill bit in the vice and gentally turn back and forth (not to much or you will brake off the drill bit) Think much as has been said the bit can sometimes get stuck at back of chuck (just the right size for some bits!!

The chuck isn't undone. It's still clamped tight to the bit.

Ah how far in does the drill bit look compare it to another drill the next size, from the same set my bit looked far to deep in the chuck coz it was !
I have put as many jubilee clips on the chuck as poss then grip the screw parts of the clips in a vice, thus locking the 'tightening rotating part of the chuck' solid then with a good battery opperate the drill in reverse to undo it

Well, I succeeded!

I clamped the bit in the vice and tried wiggling etc but to no avail. In the end I got the bit out by knocking the ends of the chuck jaws backwards with a hammer/punch.

Everything seemed siezed so drowning it in penetrating oil and more hammering/stilsoning got the jaws open enough to remove the chuck.

New one ordered!
