Drier but still got moisture at gun

Just fitted this drier as am setting up for spraying more of my own work
Still got a bit of moisture which showed itself when I disconnected the gun
It's only hi build vynil on gates and railings and such. Do I need to take further measures or ignore it and crack on? If so what?

i have one on the tank then a decent bore-rubber hose to another seperator-with coupling fitted then a smaller bore hose no longer than 5m to the gun keep the hoses flat and strait if possible . -the 1st seperator- takes a bit out and the second takes it all out if its not spoiing the finish go for it

Is the flat hose to keep moisture acumulating at low points? If so I could pipe upwards straight after compressor and connect the gun at ceiling level perhaps?

yep fit second one well up the line its sup[rising how much hot air gets past that 1st filter and -condenses in the pipe

You have the filter way too close to the compressor it should be ideally 18 feet away to stop.it heating up, once it starts to get warm it will stop working

I wouldn't have thought it needs to be 18 feet "as the crow flies" (I'm only guessing, maybe it does?)- surely you could do a couple of "loops" of pipe to increase the length of pipework between the compressor and the dryer?

No not as crow flies but 18 feet gives the air time to cool down water separators work on the condensing principle

Yes, that's what I thought. So you could have perhaps 2 or 3 runs of hose to achieve the "length", without the "distance" if you see what I mean?

You can route the airline to give you that distance ie 9ft one way and back again or similar you may aswell just move the one you have as buy another

Ordered a second further away that will be placed over head height were I plan on clipping in a flexible coiled hose
This will reach back to drill and bench grinder for clean up and also into the detachable spray booth I am planning
I can see what is meant by getting too hot but I can't see that being a major issue in Slaidburn
The shop is only ever realy warm when I am doing hot work at which time the compressor is off
There is every chance I will need a bigger compressor anyhow - early days yet
Worse case I have good clean air for the hypotherm plasma I plan on adding next year

You have missed the point, what happens when you stick a finger over the outlet of a bike pump then operate it ? your finger gets hot due to compression, this also happens with the compressor and it pumps hot air into the receiver, it is this hot air that heats up the filter and stops it from working, had you have moved your current filter away from the compressor it would have cured it and saved you the expense of another filter

It makes a squeeky noise on a flabby bit with a little moisture you get a fart noise
The first filter is gathering water non the less and it can't hurt to put two in. I notice a few members who have posted previously in threads have multiple filters so at very worse it's something and a handy connection point
