Dremel cutting discs

I've got a little dremel tool which is real handy getting in nooks and crannies with, and cutting out tricky areas, but the little discs are weak as hell!

Is there a decent alternative disc I need, or should I look for a certain material disc?

which ones are you referring too.

as there is two types afaik

the ones you have to screw onto the holder and the speedclic ones.

I've just got plain red/brown ones, about 20mm with a little hole in the middle for the screw.

aww yer i got loads of them in my assortment container.
only used 1 i think, due to the same as you stated.

i just use the speedclic ones

So these speedclick ones last longer than 2" cut in 20 gauge? They seem expensive for how many you get.

I have found the genuine Dremmel ones to be better than the Aldi own brand ones, but they are very expensive. The other thing I have found is that you need to use them at a low speed, or at least start slowly. If you are cutting metal with a Dremmel tool I have also found that it's better to start the initial cut with something else like a grinder as the little discs will disintegrate at the first touch if the metal is quite thick or the speed too fast.

i guess they are fairly expensive, but i don't use them that often,
only when a normal grinder is too big or you need to be delicate
other then that i use 1mm discs in the 4 1/2" grinder

To be fair I think the whole SpeedClic disc system is bordering on extortion. ....

I find putting two of the cheap discs together in situ works better.
Nothing as good as the speedyclik ones

totally agree, but what can you do, great for getting into tight places a normal grinder cant.
