Dreamliner window blinds

I flew to Shanghai and back this week on a Dreamliner, the window blinds are auto darkening like a welding helmet....quite interesting....

Nice humid atmosphere, terrible seats (economy class of course)... Older seats seem much better (73-8, 74-4 etc) with a lot more padding.

Yes, quieter than a 320/21, about the same as a 330/340-600. Quieter than a 380 too (pile of junk)... Virgin have a 3 class layout with a large first section and quite a small economy section with no rear toilets. It's actually quite a small plane, designed as a long range 767 replacement I understand.

Oi oi no need to get personal!! The Dreamliner is a nice looking plane though.

I use them to Dubai and Singapore quite frequently and I just don't like them. I always try and pick a 777 or 340 if I get the chance on that route.

The biggest issue with the Emirates 380 was the service, not enough cooks and the kitchen was too big, if you get me... I didn't get my dinner...

Really? Sorry to hear that. I've got a stomach like a leather bucket (survived a week on a survey ship in Dhaka, no dramas) but I guess if the oven isn't hot enough or a member of the crew hasn't washed their hands, it affects everyone.

Christ, I guess I've always got lucky then! I'll certainly bear that thought in mind next time (it's never very palatable anyway).

I've never had any probs, used to do loads of long haul flights. I actually quite liked some of the food! (BA was generally ok but sometimes a bit boring, Air France wasn't too bad, Emirates quite nice and South African airways hit and miss)

In my defence I am a bit of a human dustbin....

i bet these airline food contracts are cut throat in winning one with everything getting compromised in the name of saving money,including food preparation and a Dollar a day staff who work in these back street placesI too go on board with a bag of munchies to avoid eating such cat food

Turkish airlines gets my top vote so far, closely followed by Emirates

Trip number 6 of the year coming up on Friday, a quick n cheap fault finding trip to a boat yard in Majorca. Only got back from China last Saturday...
