Draper 115 Mig

Anyone know anything about it? Are Drapers any good?

The specs seem reasonable low 25A bottom end and 115 top. I figure that it should be reasonable for sorting out a car with a 25a low?

I had a MW151AT Turbo, was good whilst it worked but then it packed in with no easily detectable fault...

Cost me ~£200 but as it had just fell outside of warranty when it failed the replacement board was ~£90 and not worth the cost if it turned out to be not just the board at fault...

Your probably better off saving up for a PortaMIG or other professional brand if your going to be doing quite a lot of work with it...

Depends on your budget, I doubt I would go for a Draper, if it's only car work you plan and nothing above 3mm then a Clarke 130 would be a good buy, even a 90 or 100 amp will be fine for car work, plenty of folk using them and great for spares.

If you think you will get the welding bug and move into heavier material then I agree with Omniata if budget allows.
