The tiny hole above the cable has a release in it, take a tiny pick or needle and insert it in the hole then pull it upwards to apply downward pressure on the release and it should come out!

I tried pushing down on tabs nothing. I did notice the holes. Don't have a dart handy. Wife's house no tools at all

Ah no. The trick I mentioned is to get the flex side out not the feed in side t&e
To get those out as mentioned above just push down the tab and give the cables a wiggle or slight twist and pull, they should come out. If not then try a little push on them before a yank!
I usually do 1 pair of conductors at a time as they can get quite well wedged in.
Most of the better quality new ones are wago 221 style which are infinately better!
Don't know how we managed with the old Ashley J501 boxes years ago!!
