I have a need to hold door(s) open at a position of my choosing. At the time I
decided to do something about this, none of the stays on the dear old web
appeared suitable. So made my own:
Back door to my garage/workshop. Very simple. This door can open 90deg max:
Now both of my shed doors are 9" shorter than the standard door above.
Anything like the stay above and I would be banging my head on it every time
I went in/out. So concluded that the shed stays would need to be mounted on
the hinge side, out of my way.
Door in the side of my store shed, door can open 180deg. This stay is grossly
over engineered, but this door does get blown alot by the wind:
Door in the end of my woodwork shed, door can open about 135deg. Similar
design to the store shed, but modified for the different design of shed
frame:
Sheds are always more of a problem, I think, due to varying designs of the
shed frames. These stays have now been in use for some years and work well.
Just hope this may help someone else solve the problem. I'm sure some may have
other designs.
