Had my first order for shelves in ages, I make CD racks and have sold a skip load of the mover the last few years.The credit crunch thingy kncked this on one the head. One sale so far this year. I suppose the first thig you dont buy is a £500 Cd rack. Two orders this week, is the crdit crunch clearing?

Back to business, got out the tools to start work on it tomorrow, picked up the belt sander, checked the belt thinking 'this thing has worked and lasted well'' can you see where we are going kids?

Switched it on and BANG, a great chunk of metal popped through the belt, followed by another bit. Looks like some kind of guide for a small belt. It still seems to kind of work. Ho Hum. Best replace it.

Have just ordered it, a Makita 4" jobbie that takes the same sized belts as the old one, a Ryobi which did a damn good for a cheapish tool.
Luckiny I have some cash in the paypal account for a change.
Viking funeral for it? or maybe drag racing with it on an extension lead.

Try dropping an angle grinder loaded with a cup brush. Bloody thing ran around in circles round my feet, me trying to catch it or kick it. Didn't think to turn it off at the plug.

Go on Utube and look up power tool racing, yet more mad americans.

I did extacly that at the weekend. I'm renovating a wrought iron gate for my sister-in-law as a christmas pressie. Stripping the old paint off and had already got through one wire brush, so switched the grinder off and unplugged it to swap for my last cup brush.

It was all looking like a health and safety film until I plugged the little sucker in and switched it on at the mains - and it took off across the garage like a rocket - those things off the leash are scary

Took a lovely gouge out of my workbench and leapt about the floor like a wounded animal until I switched it off at the mains.

Must admit, I did have a laugh at myself afterwards - must have accidentally switched it on whilst funbling with the brush change. Thank god I wasn't right next to it when I switched it on - brushed nuts anyone!!!
