got a new dol starter for 400v 3 phase motor, just noticed the coil is 230v what difference will this make ?
Not provision for a neutral? It just connects to one side of the coil. What make is it I might have a coilYou can make it work, but it may be easier just to take it back and change it for a 415v coil. There is usually no provision for a neutral in a starter as the coil will be operating between phases. have you any pics of the starter, is it new? Wiring diagram?

There's a neutral connection in the starter, but the feed to the lathe is only 3P+E, so it's back to plan A and wait a few days to get a Schneider DOL starter. This was supposed to be a quick way to get the lathe up and running - and it failed, didn't check coil voltage. There is usually no provision for a neutral in a starter as the coil will be operating between phases. have you any pics of the starter, is it new?
