Doing some training this weekend

Doing some training this weekend with a friend who is two years into a pipe fitting apprenticeship and moving onto the welding portion. Unfortunately apart from his college blocks, he doesn’t get to do any welding onsite, so I’m going to try and get him up to speed.

We’re going to be covering some level 2 city and guilds MMA stuff. Will take some photos and maybe stick the odd live video up on instagram.

Will be starting with T Fillets in the flat horizontal/vertical position. He has already done a few days of bead on plate at college.

Unfortunately won’t be able to use my Lorch MicorStick so it will be the trusty Inverter Fusion doing the deed.

If anyone has anything they might like to see let me know and I will try to take some photos explaining.

Tell you what i would like to see in a vid,is keeping the same tilt and drag angle correct when you get right down to the last couples of inches or so on the rod esp on flat T fillets,i lose it half way through a rod

It's all in the wrist. I never use the last 40-50mm of the rod. You can overheat it and I find its more susceptible to arc blow when you get near to the stub.
