Does this look familiar to you ??

I bought this machine recently from a local welding supply shop "as traded" here in Tasmania. Constant googling has given me NO information at all !

As you can see, it carries the moniker "Craft Mig 160/M" and is in Cigweld blue, but that doesn't seem to help in identifying the original manufacturer.


The instructions on the front panel are multi-lingual, so I expect this was built in (for ?) Europe. It's a few years old and apart from a problem with the wire feed (the knob goes from 0 to 16, but by the time it gets to 2 it's running at full speed!) it seems to run fine.

Most of my welding will be on 1.6 and 3.2 millimetre RHS but I'd like to know its full range in case I want to do any bodywork.

well it runs gas or gasless wire as you can change polarity. There is a good chance that you can mess with the wire feed, there is likely to be and adjuster/trimmer on the pcb

It's gasless at the moment cause I can't afford bottle rental.

I'll be taking care of that in the next few weeks. The wire feed is not a big problem because once you know about the trouble and work out how to adjust it, everything runs smoothly.

I'd really like to know the amp range from 1 to 5.

well taking a guess, that settings usually have an even space between them.
So setting 1 is likely to be 30amps (thats about the normal bottom end range)
each click there after is likely to be about 30amps ish.
