Does TFR contain silicone?

When cleaning surfaces prior to painting, I never use ordinary detergent as it contains silicone which can prevent paint from sticking.
What about TFR, I have been given a few gallons, woukd you use it?
I'm abrading (keying) and degreasing previously painted surfaces on a steel barge.

There are so many different versions of tfr, but manfacturer or supplier should be able to supply you with a cosh data sheet with the composition of it

By detergent, do you mean car shampoo? Other detergents, like Fairy Liquid, don't contain any silicones and are normally a no-no on paintwork because they will remove the protective waxes from the paintwork, but if prepping for a new coat, might be just the job.

Ok I'm mistaken as I thought fairy liquid had silicone. Good because I have gallons of it!

yep , buy the real thing , for few quid spend its worth it not to have to start all over again ,

Panel wipe is cheap and handy, bite the bullet and get a gallon can

Possibly silica not silicon.Used to bulk up things like washing up liquid.
