just buy one of them about 95 quid get a tungsten carbide jet for it from pk trading about 14 quid use a 14cfm compressor minimum get sum j blast fine expendable and away u go any other abrasives to fine or slow![]()
The whole idea of me using soda is it isn't abrasive. I use ali oxide for those rare times I want an abrasive media, for etching and I use bead for, well beading. The soda blasted parts looks pretty good and I can happily do motor parts. I have spent many hours cleaning engine parts after beading, hopefully I have never left any bead in an engine, though I have twice rebuilt motors definitely wrecked by bead/ali oxide. I keep meaning to go to tesco and buy some soda.
Any detail of the inisde of the siphon gun you made?
I had a large, 4 armhole, guyson cabinet. It came with one of the cast guns and one fabbed from some scraps of tube, the fabbed one worked every bit as good as the cast one. wish I had pics of them. I don't know I ever looked inside the cast one, the fabbed one was 1" 10sg box with an air fitting one end and the nozzle the other, about half way along the tube at a 45º angle was a bit of tube welded in and that was the media tube. I need to make a new gun as my present one has been in use 20years and the bead has eaten through the top of the casting.
