do you need to relieve the strees of the metal after tig welding

need to make some aluminium sheep hurdles as they are expensive to buy

only problem is i dont have a tig welder and even if i did i think i would have to heat them up afterwards to relieve the stress of the metal to stop it cracking

am i right or am i thinking of mig welding ali

The quick and simple answer to your question is no you would not need to heat treat an item of that sort.

Other factors do come into the equation though, mainly the material you intend to use, not all Aluminium grades are heat treatable in the first place. The only common grade you would encounter and is heat treatable for that type of work is 6082, which would 'have' to be annealed to bend the sections (assuming you are following the style of pics google returned)

Heat treating is really out of the question for that sort of work in my view, it's expensive and in your case will add no benefit.

the bottoms will have to be bent or angled to allow them to slide but the tops can be mitred

how much bend can you get on 30mm box without needing to heat it

turns out you dont but with some shapes-and the proper prattley ones-they are heat treated to relieve tension and stress in the metal which stops it cracking easily in use
