Should I be sanding material with 320 grit paper before spraying it over with primer to allow it to get better adhesion?

Dcal Member Messages 3,850 Location Antrim Northern Ireland Jul 16, 2021 #2 No, you should be sanding it with 80 to 120 max before priming. The steel is hard and you need to get scratch marks in it, the coarser paper does a far better job of that.
