Do i need balance?

Hi, my Transtig 200 is up and running and i'm attempting ally welding, should i be able to get a nice looking weld without balance control (no doubt a stupid question)! Also can someone advise on the size of tungstans and filler wire best suited to different thicknesses/ applications? At the moment i'm welding 3mm ally plate.

simple answer, if you havent got an option to adjust AC balance then you dont need it...if you do have it then just play and see what it does

You will have balance it will just be fixed. Tbh it's not a variable I change that often i usually find a place that works and it stays there. (70% +_5). I wouldn't worry about it. 2.4 tungsten would be fine.

You should be able to stack some dimes without adjustable balance control.
