Hello all,
I recently bought this dividing head and am a little puzzled by the function of the shaft coming out of the rear. It is keyed and obviously should have a handle, there is a spring loaded plunger to the rear of the dividing plate which locks that in position. If I disengage that plunger, the shaft will rotate and turns the dividing plate, otherwise it won't turn.
Is anyone familiar with this type of dividing head.
Alec.

we had to make a slab mill cutter using helical milling on the horizontal miller the keyed shaft on the dividing head was coupled to the table lead screw on the miller so when the table moved the dividing head rotated.
