Disposing of disposables

Are there any rules governing disposing of...err, disposable bottles?

I've got two half empty Bernzomatic bottles (MAPP & Propane) that were used with a small torch but I no longer need them....do I need to do anything particular with them?

Seriously...I don't want to put anyone at risk with these things, I'd just sling empty ones in the scrap bin but being half full...

take to the local tip they have a collection point for gas bottles the reason they dont want u to refill is its lost revenue just the same as calor gas .heres another

Why would you throw them out half-way through? Wouldn't it be easier to just use them up. Seems the easiest way to empty them.

Agreed, but the oxygen is unobtainable so sadly they're no good to me and I sold the torch, the oxygen only lasted five minutes anyway

It says that on the side of Evian bottles as well
