Dintrol cavity spray aerosol... any good?

I've tried searching the forum but everything i see is about undersea and cavity wax...

I've painted my mini and doused everywhere I can with dintrol cavity spray, 3x 400ml cans of! Now I'm thinking I should have used something else as it sprays on like a thin oil and looks like its just going to run away over time, main focus is in between seams, A, B, C posts and roof gutter inners as well as up behind scuttle etc etc. Nothing that is going to see road water/salt or abrasion... am I overthinking it, should I leave it alone to do its job? Underneath is stonechip and 2k colour, just want to make sure I've protected inside the seams as much as realistically possible.

it starts thin then thickens. it allows it to creep.

Dinitrol cavity sprays are one of the best. They used to win many of the product teats in Practical Classics magazines etc.

I use it inmg cars. Also in large can form and use a compressor and lance to spray it into cills.

Wahoo!! Finally sounds like I've actually got something right for a change?! Thanks guys, been worried I've gotta try and panel wipe/wash it all off from places I will never be able to get into haha.

I use bitumen paint,thinned with white spirit has the same anti rust blah blah blah in it and far far cheaper

Just remember it's not a one off application - it needs redoing every few years.

I like Dinitrol stuff...used on my MR2 about 10 years ago.

I try to do it on a nice hot day...put cardboard under the sills as it flows very nicely.

RC900 rust converter is good....but seems to be crazy expensive these days.

Bitumen hardens/dries out too much. It's cheap though, so if you want to use it as a component of a DIY anti rust waxy product, may as well. But needs some waxy/oily components to keep it tacky too.

Dinitol is a proven decent product, definitely wouldn't be removing it.

Always set the wax cans into a sink of hot water for 20 mins before using them and shake the cans well.

This way they won't clog up and will spray out far nicer and creep better right away.

I also do this with the "shutz" style dinitrol cavity wax cans. I use those for doors and cills as its better value VS loads of cans and can be applied a little thicker. I use a 360 degree lance so it soaks all areas inside cills with the anti rust smoo

could always redo the most rust prone areas next year incase theres thin spots , but yeah thin is ideal as it ought to have crept into pinch welds etc
