Digital Mig torches?

Anyone know of any digital/LCD display type Mig torch makers? I have seen Parker Technology do ones, see pic below, but information is sparse on how they actually connect. In fact information is sparse full stop as their catalogue doesn't contain much info at all.

This is to connect to an EWM Phoenix 330 Puls welder BTW.

I know EWM do them but their online shop says not in stock and price is a bit high although I am sure dealers could give a wee bit better price.

Would another torch display work with the ewm.
I thought they were very much restrained to there own

I don't know for sure but as Parker Technology only seem to make torches then I would assume they must be able to connect to assorted makes.

Lorch has the power master digital system. They are BINZEL torches but the screen they have added on is specifically for their machine.

And that’s not particularly expensive.

It is not excessively expensive but it is more than I would like to pay for a 3m torch. I think I could get a Parker for less than half that but whether it would be as good I don't know.

Can’t say for the mig torch offerings but the Parker tig torches are meant to be good quality items.

The PC2 torch is made by Binzel, but only available from EWM, and it only connects to the newer EWM machines.
Hood I found that PC2 torch rather stiff and a bit awkward when compared to the Fronius product. The Fronius torch seems to be lighter and far more flexable, not to mention thinner in the lead. Probably won't make that much difference until you have to get into those PITA places. I must say 'Fransis's' 4.5 meter torch even has a light in the handle to light up the area to be welded. I thought it was a bit of a joke, but hey when you are pinned upside down, under the floor of a boat, around some ribs and stringers , it is a magical thing

My local welding supplier phoned Parweld yesterday to see if they did such a thing and they said no.
He also phoned Parker, or at least the main distributor for them, and they said they can do them but they need to know the machine they will be connected to and then they will make it to order. How much it will be I have no idea and at the moment I won't be asking as I am not sure if I will be needing one after all.

Cool I jumped the gun a little bit the parweld XTM 201DI their new multi process machine dose come with a digital torch with buttons on but no screen unfortunately. Probably would only work with their welders anyway.

Buttons would work no problem with the EWM or at least I think it would be no problem as there is a pinout of the analogue plug in the manual and it seems to show the connections for Up/Dn for Amps and Voltage offset. These are the two things I want but a display would also be good as often I am too far away from the EWM to see the readout. If you are welding all the same thickness then it is no problem and even if not you can soon adjust at the torch to the correct settings. There are however occasions when I will be going from heavy stuff to thin walled tube and really you wan't to be close to the setting for it when you start or you blast a big hole in it, that is where a readout would come in very handy.

What you need Hood is a Lorch S3 Mobil mate.

For what you do, and what you’re trying to achieve, just buy the kit already capable of everything you want.

I could plug that nanofeeder into my lorch, have the 3m powermaster torch plugged into that. You’ve got a 30kg machine with wheels on the back to pull it round, takes 300mm spools, then you’ve got 11m of reach. With 7kg of 5183 in it it is hardly heavy.
And With all the settings on a digital display right on the mig torch working through the nanofeeder extension.

I don’t know how much welding you do but I would have thought your Phoenix has paid for itself now. Could you not shift that on and just get an outfit that works for you? Especially since you have the nanofeeder already.

I could have had the perfect machine from @Jim Davey , Phoenix 355, water cooler, 15m mini feeder and 8m water cooled push/pull. Problem is I couldn't really afford it even though the price was good.

I don’t know what the going rate is up there but for all our workshop work down here we charge £35/hour plus consumables/materials.
I would say the S3 has paid for itself in its first year quite easily. I did one site job with it that would have meant hiring an engine driven arc welder but we already had the generator so we took the S3 on a 10m extension lead.

I suppose if your only welding once a month it can’t be justified but if you’re welding every week and need that reach then it’s a no brainer.

We double our workshop rate when we go onsite with a machine. At them prices a machine buys itself back pretty quick.

Plus I have a 3 metre MT451 PC2 torch with the 19 pol connector in stock.

It is the water cooled version though thinking about it so not much use with out that Phoenix 355 to go with it
