Digger window bedding sealant/adhesive

What is the thoughts on using CT 1 or Dow 799 for holding the glass to the metal runners which hold the glass in place by the adhesive only no mechanical fixings.
Had a bit of a disaster, well I never but the guy who unloaded the machine has put the lower window in bits and thankfully the top section which must have been repaired in a fashion fell apart and the glass stayed intact, I am going to use some polycarbonate to replace the small lower section, just looking into getting the top window reassembled, I was planning hole punching some thin rubber gasket as a spacers so there is a couple of mm of bond allowing for flex, is this a good idea or not, the spacers would be set in the flexible adhesive.

A few years back (maybe 4?) I spoke with a local tractor repair place as one of the panes of my 2CX windows fell out, luckily I happened to be walking past and stopped it coming out completely. He said they use CT1 and I did the same. Cleaned it all up, brake cleaner and then CT1 around the edge, nothing else and it's been fine since.

It might be worth seeing if there's a local auto glazing place. I smashed the upper door recently and phoned Cymru Auto Glazing who specialise in plant. £155+VAT for a new top pane (4x2.5ft or so) fitted on site.

Sikkens make a specific product for that.....
go to an auto body store....
I would / could also us a Polyurethene product....it's a bit like silicone....brill stuff...plus it's available in the local DIY store for 8 euros a big tube....
Its also works like silicone....been using it a lot....no drawbacks yet....UV proof n very flexable.... like everything else once opened it has a timed life....
My 3 CX had little rubber spacers to keep the new glass in the correct position....

Windscreen adhesive is readily available, sticks most things…

Polycarbonate can be fussy (*) and reacts badly to many solvents in adhesives. Can’t remember its name but I got some specialist glazing stuff made for polycarbonate when I did my tractor windows.

(* wipe polycarbonate with acetone or IPA and it crazes and shatters rather than bends. I learnt this the hard way when I re-glazed the enclosure for my CNC milling machine and had to do it twice)

thankfully the lower broken window is held in place by 2 rubber grommets, its the upper large glass pane which needs fixing to the side runners which slide up so the window can be opened above your head, not sure I will need this feature, if its fixed and held in place I might just leave it closed, although I have freed off the spring catches to get them working again.
