can I braze or solder some stainless tubing to an aluminium casing that I've got ?

new one on me but you could perhaps use Hysol the two pack epoxy putty? I don't know the application but its good stuff. I cant see how you might get the temperature right on both parts simultantiously to silver solder or braze but like I say new one on me

You might find someone with a plan but I haven't seen this done

I have done this with silver solder. It's not easy as the aluminium absorbs so much heat that it takes ages to get the solder to run.

You need the low temp silver solder.
