Die Grinder Burrs

Can you good folk recommend a set of these. I’ve been asked by a mate. Will be used for wood carving in an electric die grinder.

Have to be available from eBay (don’t ask) good (ish) quality and not mega expensive

You can get stuff from Cromwell Tools on ebay, I think they sell York brand burrs which seem OK to me although I don't use them on wood. Cromwell aren't the cheapest so maybe not what your mate wants but it's a start.

Mac tools sell them in a set of 4 and there the best Iv used in ages

Use a cheap set in my die grinder when I'm restoring windows.

I bought the Banggood ones. They are branded as drillpro on ebay just search for them. I can’t copy a link but they are cheaper on ebay than Banggood.

Just looked at the Katsu offering on eBay, I don’t have one........ yet

I have a Bosch variable speed router that sees little use. Could I press this into service as a die grinder? For very occasional use only. With these Burrs obviously.

I use my small B&D like that. If it's not supposed to be then meh, don't have it demountable from the bottom part of the router.

Is a set like those above not going to be painfully slow for roughing out . I dont think one set/type is going to be enough, maybe add a course set to the arsenal.

I have a Katsu and it works fine but I find the switch being at the end of the motor is in a bad place, It doesn't have variable speed, The shaft does get quite warm if used for a long spell and the wire strain cover soon soon split and got tatty.
I think my brother also has a Katsu grinder but his model has a chuck rather than a collet.

Not wood I know, but I seem to be VERY skilled at breaking die grinder bits !

Only when (in sheet metal) I'm enlarging holes or whatever - internal shapes - the bit goes into oscillation rattling about from side to side and (usually) the braze between the tool shank and cutting part breaks. Now obviously I'm not grasping it firmly enough and being ham fisted, but it is often a gentle subtle light blend I'm trying for, not masses of metal removal, and suddenly I get caught out !

Honestly try the Mac ones Iv had a set for 2 years and never broken one compared to a copy version
