diamond shaper ?

came across this in a old tin of bolts I bought ,has anyone got any idea what it is for ,looks like a industrial diamond I the end , has some writing on it and will have to clean it up on the wire wheel tomorrow ..thanks ian

I just use an old 4 inch diamond cutting disk for truing up me grinding wheels

Looks like it might fit my dressing tool, if you could measure the small shank and would like to sell it, I might be interested. Mounted diamonds aren't terribly expensive to buy depending on the size and number of facets. Looks like it's had some use but it's hard to tell from the pics.

also is this vice clamp off a lathe , or any good to anyone ,it was in with the sharpener

We used one of those diamond tools to dress the wheel on the surface grinder, mounted in a steel block so the magnets would hold it.

I have one myself and don't recall it being very expensive, they're handy tools especially when muppets have left horrible groves in wheels.

I bought one a year ago, to replace the 45 year old one on my valve seat grinder[ I put it somewhere
safe;-)] I think it cost 3 quid inc delivery, from china obviously as from the UK the post would have been
a fiver.
