Dewalt / Milwaukee experts

I’m looking for a small brushless drill - I have Milwaukee stuff and have a small M12 one and want something very similar in dewalt.

Has to be Dewalt as it’s a gift for someone who only uses them.

It looks like the rough equivalent is XR 12V - but they look like full size batteries.

Anyone advise what I am looking for ?

This is the Milwaukee one below - and this Dewalt one looks similar ??

have a quick look at Dean Docherty on you tube , he does a lot of repairs on stuff , ,and theres a batch of dewalt giving a lot of bother with triggers , best take a look before you go buying anything , just cos its yellow you dont want a lemon .

I don't think dewalt offer a compact 13v battery like milwalkee do.

Although milwalkee offer the bigger size in 12v.


The bigger size are handy as you can stand the drill on the battery when you put it down.

Yes I’ll get batteries with it. It’s in a small workshop where each chap has a different brand so need to stick with DW.

Ok thanks. Yep Ive got the bigger M12 batteries on my compressor but the small ones make for a small drill overall.

I've got the same with bosch.
Small ones I'm 2ah and 3ah.
Bigger ones in 4ah and 6ah
Ignoring run time, some tools/jobs suit the small ones better and some the bigger ones. There are a few tools that feel better balanced with the bigger battery.

If he already has a dewalt collection then buying the drill as a bare tool and buying one 6ah might cost about the same and save him ending up with 2 small batteries and a charger that he won't use?
