DeVilbiss GTI Pro Lite 1.3 vs 1.4mm tip for 2k Direct Gloss

Hi, I've just upgraded to a GTI Pro lite from an FLG5 for use as my main gun and will keep the FLG5 for primer.
I used a 1.4mm tip with the FLG5 for 2k direct gloss previously but not sure what the preferred setup is for the pro lite.

Any advice on the best air cap and tip size for 2k direct gloss with the GTI Pro Lite?
If you own a GTI Pro or ProLite your input is still valuable as they use the same air caps and fluid tips.
I currently have the TE20 air cap and 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4mm tips.

Depends on the paint but I mostly use a 1.3

Devilbiss did have some charts available for different paint manufacturers with recommended fluid nozzles sizes for there Gti pro range of spraygun’s. The standard size fluid nozzle for the gravity one was 1.3 and was recommended for 2k direct gloss and clear.

The air cap choice doesn’t affect the quantity of paint delivered to the panel but the finish that can be achieved due to the volume of air consumed by the spraygun. With the Gti pro the T110 gives the smoothest finish straight from the gun. If you are trying to match existing paint don’t use a T110.
Aircap choice may be restricted by the size of your compressor, as the four air caps for the Gti pro have an air consumption range of 9.4 to 15.9 cfm.

Using Selemix 7-512

The data sheet recommends 1.4 - 1.7, I definitely don't think I'd go any larger than 1.4 with it.

Also, with this paint, 2 mixing ratios are stated.
Standard - 4:1
High Resistance - 5:2 (different activator required)

Does the High Resistance mix mean a stronger more durable finish?

I use a Gti Pro Lite in 1.4 with a TE20 cap for direct gloss but but it will depend on the paint, the DG i use is 2 to 1 and i normally add 15 to 20 clear to gloss it up and improve the durability of it

Does the High Resistance mix mean a stronger more durable finish?

I would have thought so but I would check the details of the 9-080 hardener as it seems like a different hardener is used rather than the standard 9-060 or 9-065

I may be looking at the tds incorrectly but it list information for conventional sprayguns rather than hvlp. With some of the paints I’ve used they have gravity and suction sprayguns with a recommended fluid nozzle size of 1.6-1.8 and hvlp sprayguns with a recommended fluid nozzle size of 1.3-1.5.
As the gti pro lite is either hvlp or compliant I would start with a 1.3 and see what the spray pattern looked like before attempting to put any paint on a panel. As the fluid nozzle doesn’t take long to change you could easily change one and try again
