Design or tech drawing app

I want an app for my tablet so I can do simple line drawings with dimensions etc.
I need something simple fairly and basic so I can design parts I want to make from alloy and steel on my lathe without spending hours making it only to discover I've make a fatal design error.......
Is there anything like this out there?

what tablet?

i use an app in iPad called concepts. its ok for the odd sketch design, id rather have the accuracy of a proper computer based CAD though, I'm still looking for a suitable one of those although i do use google sketchup at the moment.

tablet, ugh, I dont think its the right form factor despite all the hype. I always sit down to a pc with a real keyboard and mouse (well its a trackball...) for cad work.
For what you describe librecad on a pc is pretty competent, I used it a lot to layout parts to make using my manual mill and dimension points to a ordinate point so I could use the dro. Industry standard is for 2d is autocad really (3d I would say solidworks), and if you have any asperations its worth taking the extra effort to learn it (and the extra cost) if only because in future a employer might be more impressed you know autocad than some free program they havent heard of.
For a tablet, no idea, I have one but I use it for reading ebooks in bed and the odd spot of facebooking.

Sketchup is a great little application for the PC, i think a mobile version is available.

My old laptop with AutoCAD 2006 was slowing falling apart. I stumbled across this gumtree seller in my search for a newer one. I was wary about buying through gumtree, especially as it wasn't face to face, but felt somewhat protected when he invoiced me through PayPal (which I square up with my credit card.) I upgraded the laptop on offer to a maximum of 8GB and went for the 120GB SSHD. AutoCAD 2014 was my choice of software. Great communication from the seller & tracking info when the laptop was sent. It arrived as described. As always, "buyer beware"!
