Hi all.
I have a Dell Latitude D620 laptop [I know it's ancient
] and want to configure it so that I can use my Epson scanner, which I know works with WinXP [I have an XP disc but Win Vista is currently installed, not sure if that work with the scanner software but it might
].
The problem is the screen is very dim, to the extent that it's hard to make out what's being displayed. A new/replacement screen is relatively cheap [ e.g see this one https://www.softhands.co.uk/dell-d620-d630-laptop-screen ] and an easy fit job, but I'm reluctant to dive in if the old screen isn't the problem. Is that the most likely cause of the 'hard to see' screen or could some other gubbins lurking in the machine's entrails cause the problem? There's a new battery fitted and the dull screen is evident even with mains power connected, so it's not a power problem.
Be a shame to ditch the 'puter just for this.....
Any help appreciated as always.
