had to fit this monster today of a double extension ladder up the stairs. it took 3 people to lift it up using nylon rope and hang it and it weighs 35 kg and is 3 foot wide never again

That's a monster, Rather you than me, I hung a biggish wrought iron type for my daughter about ten years ago and used one of the special quick detachable type of ceiling fitting that slide into a dovetail and incorporate the wiring as well, But I cant remember what weight that they are rated at, But brilliant bit of kit for heavy lighting.

fortunately they was a steel rsj just above ceiling height so managed to drill it and use some 10mm threaded rod and a couple of nuts to bolt the steel hook plate to
