Ambersil is a pretty decent water-based but nothing like as good as a nasty chemicals one.

Interflon EM30+ is food safe but works as well as neat acetone.

If it's for a parts washer you might be better off with a 205l drum of traffic film remover, use it neet and change it regularly.

Funnily enough after scouring various forums and ebay I actually ended up buying some ViroSol and some Jizer - not done a head to head comparison yet but I'll update the thread when I do, I'd like to compare them both to straight kerosene.

Another thing I came across which reportedly works well although I haven't yet tried is simply hot water and Daz.

You just may have solved my problem. I've got 54 metal drawers to clean after blasting and just realised I've got 50ltrs of the stuff. Just have to make sure I dry them off fully. Thanks. Pity I can't get the military paint I want. They've stopped production due to heavy demand. I reckon every bugger who had a tank or armoured vehicle etc in their barn has decided to restore it.

my mate gave me a gallon from his works looked at it and had a sniff and thought environmentally friendly hmm crap and put it on the shelf it sat there for 6 month and I decided to use it . I was well surprised it did a good job

The Screwfix no nonsense stuff seems to do the job

Screwfix no nonsense is superb! I doubt you'd find much better for the price.
