Degreaser/parts-washer pumps?

I bought one of those small generic £40-ish Clarke/Wolf etc parts washers with the metal tank and a pump inside that has a flexy metal nozzle. I've had it 18 months and have only used it once prior to our house move. Got it out today and the pump casing has rotted out and the nozzle cracked away at the threads. Any ideas where I can buy a suitable pump in the UK? I guess it doesn't have to be the original fitment pump so long as it can filter out cr4p.

Sounds like a job for an eBay pond pump! Lots of people using them as suds pumps. My bandsaw has one, courtesy of Paul G.

Opposite here,
Mate of mine had a parts washer for many years,
The whole thing eventually rotted away....
Except the pump!, still working and donated to me for when i set it up as a suds pump on my lathe.

So, do we think a pond pump with a foam filter would do the job? I wondered if JIZER was the culprit for the rotting of the plastic.

You`d have to use a pump that wont be effected by the washing fluid. If its petroleum based like kero or turps you`ll kill it in no time, mine runs a 12 volt fuel pump and its lasted me years

A 12v fuel pump would work, shame I sold one a few months ago for 99p on fleabay, maybe that's what it was going to be used for?

I think the modern ones where there is a fuel return to the tank would be better than the old clicky Lucas ones, more flow and higher pressure.
