decent side cutters

ive been using these for the last 4 years https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eclipse-PW...t=&hvlocphy=9046800&hvtargid=pla-464393323660 identical to knipex and less than half the price and last just as long if you dont blow them up ive been getting them for 8 quid but the seller at autojumble cant get anymore now still cheap at 14

just snips pliers and a screwy. in certain circumstances a stanley knife or ck cable strippers for loose lighting cables

I would have said Knipex

put knipex handles on them and no way would you tell the diffrence and i cut a lot of cables each day

nahh just jeans and a tool belt for working at heights . it comes off when i climb down, wouldnt go round all day looking like dick with that on new kid on the block

I don't doubt they are a good side cutters, but I don't think they are identical to Knipex in fairness.
VBW and NWS also make some nice snips - but I do keep coming back to Knipex for the ergonomics, spendy though they are.

Got to agree with @MetalMonkey Knipex all the way. They last well and are comfortable!
I used to like CK but the later version with the screw cutting holes and striping notches just don't last at all the blades seem to dull really quickly.
Had some NWS ones and they were better than the CK but still not Knipex!

Can’t go wrong with Knipex or NWS, but I’ve recently discovered Tsunoda pliers and they’re excellent!

I had a medical for my first job as a sparky, the doctor gave me a piece of veroboard with 3 resistors on it and asked me what the bands were, I said 47K, 100M etc. then read out the colours.

Got a pair of Facom ciseaux d'electricien here.
They cut, and they strip, and they are as tough as old boots.
No doubt that they can perform other peculiar functions as well, but I'm not privy to the full panoply of French electrical subterfuge...
Of which, doubtless, there must be a very great deal....
