DECENT HELMET

I'm an amateur part time MIG welder just doing projects around the house. I cannot seem to buy a helmet that (1) where the auto darkening works properly (I have to walk outside into the sunshine after welding so I can see the work area I'm welding) (2) I can clearly see the weld as I'm working. Can anyone suggest a helmet brand/model that doesn't cost the earth?

Do you use it regularly, is it kept in bag or In good light.
Are the controls set and any brand name we might know
With auto helmets I think they all fail to dark setting， so walking round outside could be charging battery enough to SW from dark to light

I gave up looking for decent priced auto helmet and bought a Lincoln.

I really rate Optrel helmets but they aren’t cheap but even as a hobby welder worth every penny. No doubt others will come along and suggest more reasonably priced helmets but make sure they have easy to obtain consumables such as the inner and outer lens covers

I like the Esab A50/A60 sentinels. They're top end ADFs and built well enough, and at a price point that isn't completely ruinous.

I have an OPtrel Crystal 2.0 love it very happy with it but on the expensive side
I also have an ESAB ORIGO TECH MASK I got it with my Tig machine it is basic but works and is looking for a home it was a budget mask like the

I too really rate Optrel helmets

I always used to have Speedglas ones - but on my second Optrel welding mask and been pleased with both of them.
