de-burring,surface finish

i use my cement mixer as a means of smoothing off the surfaces/edges of small batches of components with washed [smooth] stone & water,however its a bit slow & i think there must be a better medium ,any suggestions for an improvement?

have you looked at a tumbler with the proper stone? A cement mixer is meant for mixing cement. never used my mixer for tumbling but I do use a small tumbler for small parts. I don't know how big a thing you need but small tumblers are cheap to buy and there are a stack of home built ones about on the net. The stones / media is perhaps the quickest change to make.
