Damn you technology! Getting things to work

Why is it sooooooooooo bloody hard to get things to talk to each other....

I want to connect a Samsung TAB 10.1 to a Samsung TV. Via All share, or Wifi, can I do it can like

Anyone managed to get these things to communicate?

You are not alone.

I set up four devices including the PC to run to TV or projector. Dearly Beloved then decides that the PC is too big and wants it moved. I say fine but you will not be able to watch the stored media on the TV. I still have not got the PC talking to the DiskStation properly again yet, only a year though.

We started using RaspberryPi to do the DiskStation, all good until one day without provocation, it too ceased communicating.
