Ok so last year bought 2 x 10 kg bags from an online supplier as I didn't want to pay "garden centre " prices
All was well and the flowered etc but this year nothing has emerged ! Thought they were supposed to be perennial FFS

similar probs in France
bought from the Uk 2x 50kgs bags of mixed dafs.....planted inside our fence....
apart from mixed flowers got em cheaper from the grower because about 1/2 would not flower untill the second and third season....
First year great n looking forward to the next....
virtually nothing....dug em up in a few places....the bulbs had disappeared......seems mice like em....

Grey squirrels dig them up in our garden. Raid the bird feeders as well, keep modifying them to stop them, it does for a while them they generally find a way! They are clever.

I leave ours alone for a couple of weeks after flowering, then get fed up mowing and strimming between them! Come back every year

I would modify the grey squirrels, with an Logun Axsor.

I would have trouble with the neighbours. I’m not sure a 22 Webley pistol would do a clean kill either, we live in a conservation area & have to be a bit careful.
