Hi. I got given a Debora Tigstar 25 which apparently worked until the health and safety guy came in and said that no one could use it as they weren’t trained and he cut through the foot pedal cables to prevent it being used. I didn’t know they could do that!
Anyway, it looks like it was used for welding cylinders as it had a take off on the gas to feed the inside of the pipe. I’ve since removed that.
I’ve repaired the foot pedal wiring and checked it.
Now ther is no button on the torch to control the gas. If I hold the torch near the work and press the pedal, I get a fine arc that doesn’t melt the work but keeps an established arc.
Does it need a gas supply to possibly operate a relay to turn on a full arc. Because I wouldn’t have thought you would just control the gas supply from the bottle regulator.
Sorry if this is a daft question but I’ve only used arc and Mig before.
