I’ve bought some teknik holders from Cutwel because they were on offer. Now maybe I’m biased because I normally buy Korloy but so far I’m not very impressed. They were very cheap. £20 on offer per 20mm tool.

so far the button RC type toolholder doesn’t seat the inserts properly and I feel the clamping screws are undersized on the SCLCR tools?

I also ordered a Li-Hsun bull nose centre. It just looks like a generic brand. No indication of maker on it. Not what you expect for £100 odd. Maybe I should of bought bison?
The other Li-Hsun centre has arrived in a nice wooden box.

I don’t know, doesn’t seem right, the screw sits eccentric with the insert and not at all seated when you do that.

wouldn’t buy another Li-Hsun centre. The proper one is smooth but sounds a bit rough.

I have bought quite a few Teknik tools and all have been good, so not sure what is up with the one you got, maybe just a bad one.

That sounds rough, rougher than my chinese one anyway. Send it back.

Might be useful for you, Amazon have a load of Korloy holders cheap - and expensive, sold by amazon rather than a seller, so they are genuine. Downside is they are mostly odd or big insert sizes but some normal, CNMG1606.. never seen them listed anywhere.
Carbide bars are expensive as you'd expect..
