Just made a component for a customer.
Basically it's a 130mm length of steel bar turned with some fancy undercuts in the middle and a 1/2 whit thread on either end (from a vintage vehicle)
After taking the time to turn two of these to 5 thou limit I've ducked the threads up.
My aging die has torn the thread in a few places.
Can't go to the customer like this, even cleaned up with a thread file.
Besides getting a new die (which I will) anyone got any tips?
I don't wanna screw cut.
I suspect I was heavy handed with an old die. Never had this happen before.
