Cutting disk on galvanized water tank

Will I get nasty fumes if I use a angle grinder with 1mm cutting disk to cut up a old galvanized water tank in the loft?

I know its not good to weld galvanized but will the disk heat up to produce the dangerous fumes?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Like pdg says wear a mask and don't spend too long in it you are in a confined space. The effects are like flu, aching joints won't kill you just makes you feel lousy. Just to repeat pdg watch for fires!!

Fire check. Not just while doing the job but at regular intervals afterwards. If you've got a spare smoke alarm leave it up there with the hatch open!

use a jigsaw with steel cutting blade not worth the fire risk

its an open cold water tank galved steel just leave it where it is empty eveyone else does

As said, use a reciprocating saw,
I used one to cut up a 3m square galvanised tank in the loft of a sports building,
much less fire risk and far quicker than using a grinder,
dont forget your ppe especially a good set of ear defenders as its a damn noisy job in a confined space.

turn it upside down for a small lamp to sit on...iff your not entirely insulated the lamp can be left on overnight when we have sub-zero temps,stops pipes freezing
